The City of Rahway The City of Rahway is located in southern Union County, New Jersey. It is part of the New York metropolitan area, being fifteen miles southwest of Manhattan and five miles west of Staten Island.
Since World War II, Rahway, like many municipalities in the Northeast, lost much of its industrial base as factory jobs shifted south or overseas. The city has seen the rise of service-dependent jobs within its borders and growth in finance, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications throughout the region as Rahway residents traveled throughout New Jersey and New York for employment. Now beginning the 21st Century, Rahway is a diverse middle-class community of 26,500 that has been reinventing itself in the post-industrial age and will be celebrating 150 years of its incorporation as a city in 2008.
Rahway Arts District Rahway is in the middle of a Renaissance. It's the place to watch, says the New York Times. Mayor James J. Kennedy, envisions a lively cultural community stemming from its core arts organizations ~ cultural hubs, located in and around the heart of the Rahway Arts District. Mayor Kennedy and the City of Rahway's Redevelopment Agency endorse development of the Arts District to enhance the city's quality of life and economic prosperity. The Mayor recently appointed The Rahway Arts District Advisory Board to offer guidance in the development of Rahway's cultural and educational activities that can sustain the Renaissance that is making Rahway one of New Jersey's newest destination sites ~ a great place to visit and a great place to live.

The Arts Guild of Rahway The Arts Guild of Rahway is a non-profit center for the arts and culture, housed in the original historic Rahway Library. The Guild showcases a wide variety of talent, through gallery exhibits and concerts. The Guild's programming also includes a rapidly growing list of art classes available for all levels of experience.
YMCA of Eastern Union County - Rahway Branch The YMCA of Eastern Union County is a non-profit, health and community service organization of caring staff and volunteers who are dedicated to providing quality services to people of all ages, races, faiths or incomes.

Rahway Center Partnership Downtown Rahway is undergoing a transformation, and the Rahway Center Partnership (RCP) is working aggressively to help with this revitalization. The Partnership is striving to create a downtown that serves residents, workers, commuters and shoppers.
New Jersey State Council on the Arts Founded in 1996 the mission of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA) is to improve the quality of life of this state, its people and communities by helping the arts to flourish. Through its programs and services, the Council supports hundreds of non-profit cultural organizations in providing several thousand high quality events and programs that benefit NJ audiences in excess of 18 million people each year.

The Consortium of Eastern Regional Theatres The Consortium of Eastern Regional Theatres (ConsERT) is a collective of over 75 performing arts centers and presenters, historic theatres and concert promoters that meets regularly to compare notes, discuss industry trends, develop solutions to common problems, and create programming opportunities. The mission of ConsERT is to advance the empowerment of member eastern presenters and venues through regional cooperation and representation, and an open exchange of information. Member venues range in size from 250 to over 2,500 seats.
League of Historic American Theatres Founded in 1976, the League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) is an international not-for-profit membership association.
