DESCRIPTION:Amahl and the Night Visitors 2024: New Jersey Opera Theater at UCPAC\nSunday\, December 15\n3 PM\nCelebrate the season with family and friends at this special Amahl and the Night Visitors 2024 matinee performance.\nNew Jersey Opera Theater once again presents Gian Carlo Menotti’s beloved one act opera sung in English. This 45-minute performance is the perfect introduction to the opera for children and newcomers but is sure to be enjoyed by all! \nAmahl and his mother are dazzled by the three kings on the way to Bethlehem on the first Christmas Eve. Amahl’s mother welcomes the royal sojourners who rest in the small\, bare house where love and faith work miracles during the night. \nAmahl and the Night Visitors was commissioned by NBC and first performed by the NBC Opera Theatre on December 24\, 1951\, in New York City at NBC Studios.
