SUMMARY:SABBRA CADABRA WITH DEATH METALLIC
DESCRIPTION:Sabbra Cadabra with Death Metallic\nFriday\, November 14\nDoors: 7 PM\nShow: 8 PM\nTickets: $41 -$46 (All In Pricing)\n \nLong live Black Sabbath! Long live Ozzy! Join us as we celebrate their music and incredible legacy with New Jersey’s beloved Black Sabbath tribute band\, Sabbra Cadabra\, and Death Metallic’s tribute to Metallica\, presented in partnership with Crossroads! \nSabbra Cadabra was founded in early 1993\, during the nascent days of the tribute band movement. Driven by a desire to honor the legacy of Black Sabbath after the original lineup disbanded in the late seventies\, the founding members set out to recreate the iconic sounds and electrifying live experience of the legendary band. Their passion and dedication filled a longstanding void\, capturing the spirit that has inspired countless musicians and fans alike. Now\, with Ozzy gone and Black Sabbath retired\, Sabbra Cadabra honors their music and memory at UCPAC’s Main Stage\, our grand neoclassical theater. \n“Everybody in Black Sabbath knows of us. I once met Ozzy at the old Tower Records on the Roosevelt Boulevard. Probably early 2000s? He was doing a signing. I dressed up like him as he looked in the 70s. He starts screaming\, “It’s me from the 1970s!…This is f$#%ing beautiful\,” he kept saying…And he actually wore one of our t-shirts on his ‘Osbournes’ show.” – Joe Donnelly\, ‘Ozzy\,’ Sabbra Cadabra \nMetallica tribute Death Metallic opens the show. “We play Metallica the way Metallica plays Metallica…no compromise\, no bs\, no remorse!” \nMetal maniacs\, get your tickets today! \n \nComing with a group of 10 or more? SUMMARY:MADAME SELIKA 1878: SONGBIRD IN THE WHITE HOUSE - FREE BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT
DESCRIPTION:Madame Selika 1878: Songbird in the White House\nThursday\, February 19\nAt UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage\nDoors: 6:30 PM\nOpen House: 7 PM\nFree (Registration Required)\n \nThe Union County Board of County Commissioners\, through the Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs\, is pleased to celebrate Black History Month and the 250th Anniversary of the Founding of the United States with a free performance titled\, “Madame Selika 1878: Songbird in the White House.” \nThe performance\, part of Union County’s American Revolution 250th Anniversary and Black History Month celebrations\, highlights the life of soprano singer Marie Selika Williams through a re-creation of her historic 1878 concert at the White House. Madame Selika\, along with her husband Samson Williams\, were the first free people of color to perform there. \nTerrance McKnight\, the award-winning journalist\, author and weekday evening host for radio station WQXR\, conceived\, directs and explores the historic\, political and social ramifications of that evening with performances by soprano Candice Hoyes\, tenor Chauncey Packer and pianist Kyle Walker. \nAdmission to “Madame Selika 1878: Songbird in the White House” is free\, but pre-registration is required. Intensity. Virtuosity. All Girls. All Zeppelin. \nLez Zeppelin is a phenomenon. Since their formation in 2004\, the group has stunned audiences all over the world with the musicianship\, passion and gender-bending audacity they bring to the music of Led Zeppelin. Unlike the typical “tribute band” Lez Zeppelin does not seek to imitate.
