PEDAL TO THE METAL: SABBRA CADABRA AND DEATH METALLIC TO pay tribute to the prince of darkness at ucpac.

RAHWAY, NJ — In honor of Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy, heavy metal tribute bands Sabbra Cadabra and Death Metallic will take center stage at Union County Performing Arts Center’s historic theater (UCPAC) on November 14. The event is hosted in collaboration with Garwood-based restaurant and music venue, Crossroads.
New Jersey’s own Sabbra Cadabra, a tribute band to Black Sabbath, has been touring all over the state for roughly three decades since the early days of the tribute band movement. The group is appreciated for its authenticity—even performing with vintage equipment from England, converted for modern use. Lead by vocalist Joe Donnelly as “Ozzy,” Sabbra Cadabra is an emblem of heavy metal’s golden days.
The stage will be shared with New Jersey’s Death Metallic, a tribute band to Metallica. For more than a decade, the band has honored Metallica’s iconic sound and energy in many venues across the state.
“Sabbra will be playing songs from the early Black Sabbath years with Ozzy. We all like the other, later variations of Black Sabbath, but nothing compares to those first albums with Ozzy on vocals. It was something brand new then. Those four guys, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Ozzy Osbourne, created something that had never been heard before. They invented Heavy Metal. Fans will experience echoes of that original vibe at the show.” – Jeff Mott of Sabbra Cadabra.
With a unique essence other Metallica tributes simply cannot replicate, Death Metallic will be playing a choice selection of Metallica’s universally-known and beloved material from their most treasured albums – including many of the band’s own all-time favorites – brought to life through the magic of live performance.
“It is truly an honor for Death Metallic to be performing at the Union County Performing Arts Center in tribute not only to Metallica, but to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath as well.” – Death Metallic
