New Jersey (NJ) Ballet invites you to a sensory friendly performance of the timeless fairytale “Sleeping Beauty,” set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score. This enchanting story follows Princess Aurora, who is placed under a spell and awakened by true love’s kiss.
This specially adapted performance is thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families. With adjusted lighting and sound levels, a relaxed atmosphere, and flexible seating options, audiences can experience the beauty of classical ballet in a comfortable and inclusive setting.
A radiant showcase of classical dance, “Sleeping Beauty” offers sweeping choreography, beloved music, and a magical story—creating a breathtaking and accessible experience for audiences of all ages.
What to expect at a Sensory Friendly Theatre Performance:
- Each performance runs 60 minutes from start to finish, with no intermission.
- Seating is general admission; a limited number of tickets will be sold to maintain a comfortably-sized audience.
- Lights will remain on at 25% brightness inside the theater auditorium during the entire performance.
- Sound volume will be lowered and remain constant to prevent abrupt, jarring sounds.
