Hamilton Stage is thrilled to announce its Grand Reopening Open House on Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February 4th.
This 14,000-square-foot cultural haven, inclusive of a rehearsal hall, a flexible 50-seat public space, dressing rooms, stands as a testament to Rahway’s resilience. Built and financed by the City of Rahway Redevelopment Agency, Hamilton Stage is proudly governed and operated by UCPAC.
The Grand Reopening Open House promises a weekend of festivities that are not only a celebration of the theater’s revival but also a reflection of the City of Rahway’s unwavering support for the arts.
All events during the open house will be free to the public, with Sunday featuring complimentary children’s activities and programming from 12-4 pm.
Among the highlights of the weekend is the return of American Theater Group (ATG), a resident company that first graced the stage in 2012. ATG will present “A Personal History of The American Theater,” featuring veteran theater critic Peter Filichia, on Saturday, February 3 at 7 pm.
The lineup of residencies extends to family-friendly programming, including Ryan Ratelle‘s preview of “Merrilee Mannerly” and a book signing by the authors. Theatrical Artists Prep (TAP) will showcase a children’s theater workshop and camp, offering a preview performance on Sunday, February 4.

”A Rahway Nutcracker” is an old tradition of RDT’s where dancers ages 8-18 audition for select group and solo performance roles inspired by the famous classical production of The Nutcracker. This performance will be a “suite”, or a shortened version of the production, featuring notable corps de ballet pieces and lead roles. Our dancers are students from Rahway Public Schools and surrounding towns. To live is to dance, and to dance is to heal!
