NEW WORKS/NEW VOICES HIGH SCHOOL PLAYWRITING PROGRAM

New Works/New Voices High School Playwriting Program
Free Monday Night Play Reading Series presented by American Theater Group
Monday, June 3
7 PM
American Theater Group (ATG) proudly presents new plays from its high school playwriting program. Join us as local actors read 8 short plays written by students from Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy in Elizabeth. The works will be directed by Alex Scoloveno. New Works/New Voices is ATG’s mentorship program where students work under the supervision of a professional playwright, writing short plays that are performed at the end of the program. On average, 8-15 student playwrights participate each year. This event is free with donations gratefully accepted.
About Alex Scoloveno:
“Alex is a NYC/Tri-State area based actor, writer, and filmmaker. He has been engaged in both theater and film for over ten years, appearing in a variety of projects such as an Off-Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’, This Property is Condemned.
Alex recently graduated from Rutgers: Mason Gross School of the Arts with a BFA in acting. He spent over half a year in London, training at Shakespeare’s Globe, where he had the privilege of playing Falstaff in, Henry IV Part One on the globe stage. He also is very proud to have launched his film company, “Mindful Lion Films” in which he has begun telling stories about a wide range of topics.” — alexscoloveno.com
