Welcome Back to the Hamilton Stage

UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage is Rahway’s beloved community theatre. This beautiful modern space, which suffered devastating damage in Hurricane Ida, is now restored to its former glory! Theatrical Artist Prep (TAP) will once again be running a summer theater camp this July, and American Theatre Group is currently in residency.

“American Theater Group was one of our first residencies when the Hamilton Stage opened in 2012, ” said Deanna M. Hunt, UCPAC’s Executive Director. “Since the building was damaged in Hurricane Ida, the city of Rahway and our staff have worked tirelessly to reopen this community treasure. Now, as we reopen the doors to our beautifully refurbished space, we are so excited to welcome American Theater Group and our patrons home to the Hamilton Stage!”

Named for U.S. Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, the theatre will be home to breathtakingly original plays, soaring dance, uplifting concerts, and delightful events for children.  Built by the City of Rahway Redevelopment Agency, it is independently operated under the governance of Union County Performing Arts Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization with a volunteer Board of Directors.  The building was designed by Farewell Mills Gatsch and project directed by Michael R.
