Senior citizens (55+) are invited to join area teachers and their students for a free play reading of select scenes from “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Christopher Sergel’s adaption of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” is told through the eyes of Scout Finch, a spirited young girl growing up in 1930s in Maycomb, Alabama. Scout’s father, Atticus, is a lawyer who defends a Black man falsely accused of attacking a white woman.
The play blends courtroom drama with tender childhood memories, delivering a timeless message about justice, empathy, and standing up for what’s right.
After the reading, join us for a talkback.
Admission is free, but tickets are required.
Middle and High School teachers, visit our Field Trips page to register your students for this event.
